Rehoboth Vacation 2010- Day 6

Mommy again. Friday 7/30/10 was the last day of our Rehoboth Family Vacation. I decided to take pictures of the great house we stayed in.

The relaxing front porch:

115 Stockley Ave:

Front of house:

View from stairs (Xia looking thrilled and Kris working hard on the bug puzzle):

The ALMOST completed bug puzzle:

The dining room:

The very small kitchen that we somehow survived with. Only two people fit in it comfortably at a time!

The back porch (who's the wacko waving at us?!):

The backyard (wonderful)!

And the outdoor shower - a real plus when coming back from the beach!

It was a wonderful vacation. But all good things must come to an end...

And Xia sadly learned this just as we were getting on the road to go home. She lost her lunch before we got very far along. Poor girl takes after her mother when it comes to car sickness! We made her keep the bucket in front of her the rest of the way home...

Rehoboth Vacation 2010- Day 5

Hi, Xia here. Well, Thursday 7/29/10 turned out to be a rainy day. It had to happen at least one day. We were pretty lucky the rest of the vacation.

Allie and I woke up pretty tired...

The sun came up for a little bit, so Grammy, Mommy, Isa and I walked down to the playground/lake area. I got in some fun swinging with Grammy:

And Isa too:

Then we saw a TON of turtles in the lake. There were so many EVERYWHERE:

What a treat on a rainy day of vacay!

Rehoboth Vacation 2010- Day 4

Mommy here. On Wednesday 7/28/10 Grammy, Kathy, John and I left the house before dawn while everyone else slept to see the sun rise over the Atlantic. Even though it was quite cloudy, there was just enough clear sky to see the sun come up. It was beautiful:

And what was even better, is some dolphins graced us during the sunrise!

Later we all went to the beach again, of course! Xia made friends with a big group that was making a big sand castle:

I lost count of how many times the waves came up and knocked down what she had built. She didn't seem to care.

Isa had a lot of fun in the sand too:

But the water was the most fun for everyone!

Xia the ham... trying to get EVERYONE in the movie honey...

Rehoboth Vacation 2010- Day 3

Xia here. It was back to the beach for another beautiful day on Tuesday 7/27/10. Even Isa put her feet in...

And Grammy helped me to go in a little futher...

We sure were having fun:

Hans and Aunt Kathy keep cool in the shade while Uncle John braves the sun behind:

Aunt Kris and cousin Allie take to the water:

I relaxed in my sand chair that Uncle John built for me:

And a shot of the whole family:

After the great day at the beach it was off to Funland! Since I was no longer afraid of the ocean, I was no longer afraid of the rides either. I rode them all!

First it was the swings:

Then Isa and I rode the Merry-Go-Round with Mommy:

Next, I hopped on a motorbike:

Mommy thought the clown was scary in the middle of this ride:

Then I rode the firetrucks and rang the bell over and over like everyone else:

Mommy and Daddy were very proud of me riding this big ferris wheel all by myself. I made fast friends with the other girls with me:

Poor Isa was too small to ride anything. She was stuck watching me with Mommy and cousin Katelyn:

I rode the boats last:

Mommy thought the mermaid in the middle of this one looked pretty beat up:

I decided to buy a fart bag with some of my winnings from playing games. Everyone must have one of those!

And when we got home, we all relaxed with the 1000 piece bug puzzle!

And I told everyone my story of waiting to ride the haunted house ride but then getting scared at the last second by the scary witch. Then Daddy and I had to go and find Mommy...

Whew, that was one busy, fun day!

Rehoboth Vacation 2010 - Day 2

We got settled in at our house and on Monday 7/26/10 headed right for the beach. Isa had fun playing in the sand...

And I was happy to actually go into the water this year! It didn't scare me like the other years because I'm getting to be such a BIG girl!

Rehoboth Vacation 2010 - Day 1

We are so blessed to be a part of a family that takes a yearly vacation together. We had a blast in Seaside Heights last year. This year Aunt Kathy found a great house near the beach in Rehoboth DE.

This year the following people came:
Grammy
Aunt Kris, Uncle John, Cousin Allie - Cousin Katelyn made it for one night - she had to work :-(
Aunt Kathy and Hans
Mommy, Daddy, Isa and Me (Xia).
Sadly, Grandy could not come this year as he was having heart valve replacement surgery done. But he's doing great now!

Here's Isa having a good and messy breakfast on our first day of vacation, Sunday 7/25/10:

Later that afternoon, we all got into Grammy's SUV. It was amazing how much stuff we were able to cram into her car. Poor Daddy had to sit between the car seats in the back. Isa and I took a long snooze on the way...

The true adventure began the next day...

Vacation Time - Indiana PA - Day 5 - Travel

Hi, Isa here. Well, we sure did have a fun little vacation in Indiana PA. From Mack Pool to Yellow Creek to the big Reunion. But on Sunday 6/27/10, it was time to pack up the car and head home.

First, some last pictures with Kira and Marlon:

And here I am having fun playing peek-a-boo in the car on the way home:

Vacation TIme - Indiana PA - Day 3 - Yellow Creek

It's Xia again. We had so much fun at Mack Pool, Mommy decided that on Friday 6/25/10 we needed to check out Yellow Creek State Park. Another place she spent a lot of time in the summers growing up. They have a great lake there with a small little man-made sandy beach. First we had to get ourselves motivated to get out the door as the day at Mack Pool really tired us out!

Here are Kira and I hanging out after first waking up:

Marlon can make numbers out of legos! Very impressive, but can we please go to Yellow Creek now?

C'mon Isa, wake up already!!

Finally we were all ready and we grabbed our towels, blankets, pails and shovels and off we went.

Isa didn't waste any time getting into the sand...

Neither did I...

We both had a lot of fun playing in this sand, but it sure isn't the same as sand at the beach. This stuff sticks to you like glue! But again I wasn't afraid of the water and ran right in to get the stuff off of me when it got to be too much.

Here's a pic with my lovely cousins...

Marlon made a really cool path in the sand for the water...

And here's a shot of him with Grandma. We are the luckiest grand kids around to have such a fun Grandma!

After sleeping in in the morning, Isa STILL needed more sleep:

Daddy spent the day in Pittsburgh at a great record store called Jerry's Records. He just loves finding original, interesting, so bad it's good music on vinyl. When he came to pick us up, we were having a blast at the playgrounds.

Here I am with Kira and Marlon on a cool tire swing. Man am I having fun!!

Then we had fun on a stand up see-saw:

Marlon does a cartwheel:

Next, I braved a VERY TALL slide:

And I just LOVE balance beams. I'm always making sidewalk curbs into balance beams, but this was the REAL deal!

Now this balance beam actually bounced, so I decided to ride it instead of trying to walk on it. That was a little too hard for me. But Kira and Marlon were really good at it.

Kira's telling Marlon to wait until she's ready to bounce! Whee...

Marlon really liked to bounce the thing...

And I LOVED riding in the middle:

Whew! We were all pooped at the end of the day. I just loved Kira's sock monkey pjs - so cute!

We all slept very good that night!
