Xia is Tired of Waiting...

Even though Isa is not technically due til Monday 3/30/09, we are all READY! I'm just so excited to meet my new sister; when will she come?! I'm a little tired of waiting...

On Saturday 3/21/09 we decided to try and get some belly shots of Mommy and had Xia join in too. First, the belly shot at 39 weeks:

One more week til due date - we're ready for you Isa and can't wait to meet you.

Xia Loves Ren & Stimpy

Xia here, I really love the Ren & Stimpy show. My favorite episode is Happy Happy Joy Joy which I ask to watch every day (just Google that to get lots of examples). On Friday mroning 3/20/09 I was watching a different episode and LOVED the beginning episode. It made me break out into this very unique dance that I'd like to share with you. Nothing on the screen showed any kind of dancing, so this is all of my own original work...

Isa Movies in Mommy's Belly

Mommy has been trying to get a good video of me moving in her belly, but I'm very uncooperative. Daddy did this one and Xia helped by tapping here and there. It still doesn't really show how much I can move in here, but we wanted to get something up here. We'll keep trying. This was taken on Wednesday evening 3/18/09:

Around the House

Just to catch you up on what's been going on for me the last week.

On Saturday 3/7/09, Mommy and Daddy went to a day retreat for church. They really enjoyed it. The focus was on marriage and they figured it would be a good shot in the arm before the family gets larger and time gets smaller with Isa's arrival. I love name tags, so I put them on Duckie and Elmo when they got home - what a cute couple:

On Tuesday 3/10/09, Mommy sang at Praise & Worship service at church (she does this the 2nd Tuesday of every month). Afterwards, some of the people had a nice little baby shower for Isa and gave us some lovely gifts. Here I am on Wednesday morning 3/11/09 playing with the balloons from Isa's God Family:



I was feeling very silly that morning as I then proceeded to put stickers on my face:

These shenanigans definitely put Mommy in a good mood before leaving for work!

Later that day, Daddy got some shots of me loving Herbie. I don't know if he loves how I give full body hugs, but I sure do love my "little buddy":



That's about it for now. We're all just waiting for Isa to come. We went to Mommy's weekly check up on Monday 3/16/09, and everything looks good. Isa is head down still and the midwife said she'd probably see us next week; no signs of early delivery at this point. We'll keep you posted...

Hands On House

On Friday 3/6/09, we finally went to the Hands on House. Grammy got us a year long family pass as she used to take my cousins there when they were little. She gave us the introductory tour this night as she is very familiar with the place. It is AWESOME! We had so much fun.

The braids Mommy put in that morning fell out during my nap, so she whipped up some wavy ponytails for me before we left:

So here I am feeding some corn to the friendly pig at the E-I-E-I-KNOW exhibit. I learned how farmer's grow food on today's farm:

I even picked corn and put it into baskets:



At the same exhibit, I drove a tractor:

And I helped to put some eggs in crates at the hen house:



Here Grammy and I are sitting on the stage at the MOSTLY MAKE-BELIEVE exhibit. They had a ton of dress up clothes and hats here and puppets and even microphones (behind us):

At the CORNER GROCERY exhibit, I checked out the cool cash register:

At the RAINBOW'S END exhibit I had fun playing with a GIANT Lite Brite. Mommy was very excited by this one too...



But I have to say my favorite exhibit was MARTY'S MACHINE SHOP and the world of how things work. Here I had to choose a job as I work on an assembly line and in the Maintenance Department. I really am a hands on gal, I must take after my Daddy who can take things apart, fix them and put them back together. He's so good at this kind of stuff:



I can't wait to go back!

Xia is Twentysix Months Old

So on Thursday 3/5/09 I hit the 26th month - that's 2 years and 2 months. I'm 28.5lbs and almost 3 feet tall. If the myth is true that you will be double the height you were at 27 months old, then I'm going to be over 6 feet tall! Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

To celebrate, Mommy decided to give me some French Braids for the first time. I did pretty well as she put them in though it hurt a bit at the nape of the neck. I'm pretty tough though, how do they look?

Daddy thought they were adorable. I think he's pretty cute himself:

So, I see you all got to meet Isa in the last post. Yes, I guess I have to let her talk too now. Just the first of many adjustments that I will need to make. I am pretty excited to meet her though. Stay tuned...

Isa Says Hello

Hello out there - it's Isa. That's right, Xia's baby sister. Notice the new name of the blog: Xia&IsaLife (don't worry, the web address is remaining the same). There's a new kid in town, and it's me. You can look forward to Xia sharing some days and me sharing on other days. I guess it will all depend on what's happening in the Zimmerman household.

If you've been watching me twirl around in the box at the top right of the blog for awhile, you know that I'm due to arrive in about 3 weeks. It's getting a little cramped in my quarters and I hope to see you all real soon.

On Thursday 3/5/09, my Mommy's job had a really nice baby shower for me. Here are some pics of the day.

First, the cake. Bummer, I didn't even get to have any... I think Mommy wishes I would arrive by stork, but we all know that's not quite how it works...

My big sis got a few gifts of her own. Hmmm, I wonder if she realizes yet how much attention is going to be coming to me real soon!

Here's an outfit I will be wearing soon that says "I Love Mommy". Geez, haven't truly met the lady yet, isn't that a bit presumptuous? Just kidding, she's been treating me great so far. It may be getting cramped in here, but it's quite comfortable...

More presents. Just realize that this is the ONLY time I will be letting other people open MY gifts...

Herbie Puts Up With A Lot!

I tell you, Herbie is such a patient kitty. As you've seen in the past, I put bibs on him, pillows on him, full body slam on him, and pull his tail, or chillin' out, just to name a few of my antics. Well, on Friday 2/28/09 I decided that my pal Froggie looked really good on Herbie's head. What do you think? Doesn't it look like Herbie is having a blast?!
