Hayloft Candles
On Memorial Day, Monday 5/25/09 we went to Hayloft Candles in Leola. That's just up the road from us. Xia and Daddy had been there last summer, but Mommy and Isa had never seen it. They have a great petting zoo area and Xia had a blast. Isa slept against Mommy in the sling most of the morning.
Here is Xia with the ducks. They have all of these amazing animals, but for the first hour it was all about the ducks for Xia:
Xia feeding the ducks with Daddy:
There was a kangaroo even:
And a yak! (Reminds me of something right out of the "Where the Wild Things Are" children's book):
There was a turkey who really did NOT want a video taken, evidenced by him giving us the cold shoulder (or should I say a**)!
A parrot that repeats your "hellos" - the 3rd and 5th hellos in this video are the parrot's - it sounds a lot like Mommy's hellos, so you have to listen carefully:
There is a big pond with a nice walk way around it and gazebos too. Here are Daddy and Xia standing by a carved tree:
When we were done with the animals we went into the store itself and Xia had a rest in an adirondack chair fit just for her:
We had some homemade raspberry ice cream in the store to close out the great morning!

Just Another Sunday for Us Zimmermans
We all dressed nicely for church on Sunday 5/24/09, so we had to take some pictures - of course. First, Isa FINALLY fits in some of her clothes. Here's a pretty dress Xia never got to wear because it was too cold when she was this small:
Next, a close up of Xia getting ready. Since we're snapping shots of Isa's diapers in the bathroom all day long, Xia usually wants her photo taken too:
Here's Xia all ready for church:
She likes to use the pegs from her tool bench (the ones you hammer down and then flip over) as microphones, evidenced in this video:
Then, later that evening, Xia discovered a neat trick with her raptor dinosaur. She stuck him on a glass, like this:
Pretty nifty, she figured that out all by herself. Come on, what kind of fun are you all having on a Sunday evening, this is great stuff! Here's a close up just to make you jealous:

Isa's Diaper of the Day #1
Welcome to Isa's daily post of Diaper of the Day. I was given a WHOLE pack of Huggies by my God Family before I was even born. Well, I'm now big enough to fit into them. They lovingly wrote HYSTERICAL comments on each and every diaper. I'm now going to entertain all of you with a daily picture of them. Note that I am wearing them faster than one a day as I'm going to grow out of them quite quickly I'm sure. But Mommy is going to post just one a day and she'll do her best to stay on top of it (no guarantees, but you'll see them all eventually). We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. It's so much fun to pull them out and laugh!
Without further ado, here is Diaper of the Day #1:

The Faces of Xia
Hi, Xia here. I guess you've heard that I have a soft spot for chocolate chip cookies. Here's a shot of me after enjoying one on Thursday 5/14/09:
I guess you've also heard that I really love the band, DEVO. I listen to them EVERY day! Daddy had our friend Dan, owner of Lighthouse Studios, make a T Shirt just for me (mimicking the cover of one of their CDs). Don't you love it? "We are DEVO, D-E-V-O!"

Jealous Herbie
Isa here. Poor Herbie. I'm just getting to know the little guy, but it's obvious that he is really feeling neglected now that there are 2 kids in the house. Every time I'm on the floor he has to get involved. Daddy decided to have a little fun with him on Monday 5/11/09 - Daddy is relentless!

Isa's Baptism
Isa here. I had my big important day on Sunday 5/10/09 - my baptism! What a wonderful day.
Here's a pic of Xia running around in the cafeteria before mass:
Then, it took both Grandma AND Mommy to get me into my outfit. I wasn't real pleased:
Here's Mommy walking us to our seats:
Here we all are, my family - and my God family - the Volpes, and Father Leo:
Here is where Father Leo poured the water on me - WOW. I slept through the whole mass believe it or not, but I felt the power of the Holy Spirit:
We had a gathering in the cafeteria afterwards. Here are my proud Mommy and Daddy with me:
And here are my Godparents, Jim and Heather:
Here's my silly big sister enjoying her favorite, Chocolate Chip Cookie:
We were so happy that my Great Grandmom and Aunt Kathy made it:
And our friend Brian with Jim:
Of course Grandma was there:
Good friends Fred and John:
And Lyn and Tina with Heather:
I felt very snuggly in Heather's arms:
And slept like a baby (imagine that) in Great Grandmom's arms:
Xia and I with Great Grandmom and Aunt Kathy:
Xia with my Godsister Maryam (no, we did not coordinate the colors!):
Xia with the kids in my God family, Giana, Isaac and Maryam:
Here's a video of Xia and Isaac running around a pole:
And Maryam, Giana and Xia dancing:
A shot of Mommy, Daddy and me with Heather and Jim:
A shot of the families together:
Father Leo was able to stop by, here he is with Xia and Maryam:
And here he is with Daddy and me:
When it was all over and we were back home, Xia had fun opening all of the presents (I'm just not able to on my own... yet!):
What a truly blessed day!
