Maggie Moo came to the library on Monday 1/17/11. Remember the last time we saw her? It was ice cream day, even though it was so cold outside!
Xia and I made some nice pictures and crafts while eating ice cream and high fiving and hugging Maggie Moo. Here's my big cone:
Here's Xia's self portrait eating her cone:
And here's how Xia would prefer to eat ice cream. Forget the cone and bring on the scoops!!

A Cat's Life... & Library Programming Fun
can be hard sometimes. Herbie here. There are days that I just wish I could have some peace and quiet and hide. Here I am on Friday 1/14/11 trying to hide under this table. It didn't work...my head's too big (sigh):

I did get some peace this morning though when Daddy took the girls to the library for singing with Mr. Dan. Since Martin Luther King day was coming up, they made some nice pictures related to that theme while they were there.

We're Going on a Sleigh Ride
Xia here. On Tuesday 12/21/10, we went to the library for a great program called "Going on a Sleigh Ride". We got to choose from a bunch of different costumes to wear like fairies, raccoons, cardinals, bears and foxes. We decided, after much debate, to be bears. Then we were all called in groups of our costumes to get into the sleigh and try and get it moving, but the sleigh wouldn't move until ALL of the groups were in it. Once we were all in, it moved! Then we got to make a craft of a cardinal on a stick that we pretended to fly all around. Lots of fun...
So here are Isa and I in our bear costumes waiting for our group to be called:
C'mon Isa, they called BEARS!
Isa, get IN the sleigh... what are you doing way back there?!
Now we're singing the song trying to get the sleigh to move:
Okay, I'm so done being a bear, can I get this thing off now?
Running around the table waiting to make our craft. More and more kids join in...
Isa made a nice cardinal:
And then I had fun running with mine around the room. This got to be a bit dangerous as you can see from the collision that happened (luckily I was not involved) and Miss Mary Ann reminded us to WALK with our cardinals:
We escaped any major injuries and had a good time.

Jingle Bells at the Library
On Thursday 12/16/10 we went back to the library for another program, but the presenter got stuck in snow on route 30. So we had fun with Miss Mary Ann reading us a story and then having some fun singing with jingle bells. We even got to keep these!
Santa Comes to the Library
Xia here. On Monday 12/13/10 we went to the Manheim Township Public Library because we heard that Santa was coming!
First we had some singing with Ms. Mary Ann and Mr. Dan. Here we're singing "If you want to hear a story...":
Then, after Ms. Mary Ann read Santa Duck, we heard the jingle bells and Santa arrived!
j
I've attempted to sit on Santa's lap in the past, but have always changed my mind when I got to the front of the line. But THIS year I DID IT!!! And Isa joined me. It was great:
Then Isa tried to eat Santa's arm!
Just kidding. I sure hope he brings me the things I asked for...

Manheim Township Public Library Grand Opening
On Saturday 10/16/10, Manheim Township Public Library had their official grand opening. We really love our new library and go to many of their programs as you have seen and will continue to see.
There was so much to do at their opening. There was a great puppet show, and then we went to a story time and met the dog who the book was written about. We toured all around the place, had some hotdogs for lunch and had a great time.
We got to meet the Dutch Wonderland princess:
And both of us think the cool chairs with the little desks are super neato:

Toad Comes to the Manheim Township Public Library
Hey, it's Xia again. I just LOVE the Frog and Toad books, don't you? Well, lucky for me, on Tuesday 9/21/10 Toad came to our library! Frog couldn't make it, but that's okay.
Here I am at the end of the exciting program. Can you tell form my applause that I REALLY enjoyed it?:
Then I got up close and personal getting ready for some photos:
Can you find me and Isa in the crowd?
Getting there...
Not sure about this...
Okay, this is cool!
Isn't he sweet?
After that, it was time for some computer games:
Isa wanted a turn:
I think she's a little small for the headphones!
Isa decides to do a little coloring before we leave. Hope Toad comes back again and brings Frog with him!!
